Toxic Mercury is in our soil, and still transfers to our crops even though it has been banned from farming for over thirty five (35) years, it is in our air coming from coal fired furnaces, and it is present in our water contaminating our supply of ocean fish.
It is now agreed upon by experts in the field of medicine that there is Mercury in ocean fish. It appears that the closer to shore the fish is caught the greater the amount of Mercury is present in the fish. This is because of water run-off from the land, that contains Mercury. The bigger fish eat smaller fish, and ocean plants that have ingested, accumulated Mercury. People then eat the bigger fish, and the Mercury they ingest accumulates within their bodies. If the person, who ingests the fish is a pregnant woman, then she shares her store of toxic Mercury with her developing fetus.
Fish, which is a whole protein, and is low in calories is also an expensive protein. People with higher incomes are more likely to eat more fish than people with lower incomes. I have read that Autism is more prevalent within families that have higher incomes.
We ingest Mercury from other places within our food chain. Please read my paper to see the whole picture concerning toxic Mercury, and why it is to blame for Autism in our children. One expert I quote calls Autism, "a unique form of Mercury poisoning."
Vaccinations do NOT cause Autism...it is Thimerosal, the preservative that is within the vaccination serum that causes the child to accumulate too much Mercury for their systems that already contain a heavy load of Mercury from before they were born. The child's body goes into overload, and the brain shuts down. This is what Mercury does to a developing child's brain. It shuts down. This is Autism. I have read that today, one in one hundred children develops Autism. This is a modern epidemic.
Mercury fungicide has been banned in the United States by the E.P.A. yet Methoxyethylmercuricacetate (Mercury fungicide, MEMA) was used on crops for many years, and has a life in the soil of sixty five (65) years. Mercury fungicide was used in a powder form, and was mixed with water to make liquid applications on crops such as wheat, barley and oats. It was also applied to seeds and peanuts in storage to prevent toxic fungus from growing on the seeds and nuts.
We started using Mercury fungicides for farming applications back in 1931. So Plants grown today in soils that were treated with Mercury fungicides in the past still transfer some Mercury to plants grown in the same soil today. Mercury's life in the soil is sixty five (65) years!
Mercury fungicide was banned from use on crops in the 1970's so the Mercury fungicide that has been used on crops since 1931 is still present in the soil, and repeated applications over the years means a great deal of Mercury is still present in farmland today.
Golf courses in the United States were treated excessively with Mercury fungicides before the E.P.A. banned Mercury from this use in the mid nineteen seventies. Golf courses built in the mid nineteen seventies up to the present should be Mercury free unless the land was preciously used as crop growing farmland.
The E.P.A. gives out information on other sources of Mercury in our environment besides the presense of Mercury in seafood, and in our drinking water.
According to the E.P.A., Mercury is a 'natural' contaminant in fossil fuels, and enters our air from burning fossil fuels such as gasoline and burning coal in coal fired furnaces.
Coal is NOT a clean burning fuel as the supporters of this form of power try to tell us it is, in the TV commercials.
If you live near a freeway you breathe more exhaust from vehicles than those of us who live further away. Within gasoline exhaust there is some Mercury, which deposits and adds to the load of toxic Mercury within the human body.
Mercury is used in the production of fluorescent lamps, and is inside these lamps. If you break a fluorescent lamp the toxic Mercury that is inside of the lamp ends up on a floor or in a carpet, which adds, again, to the load of toxic Mercury that we are subjected to.
Those curly shaped light bulbs that are coming in from China contain powdered Mercury. If you break one of these curly shaped bulbs you must use tape to pick up the pieces of the bulb. Then the floor or carpet must be cleaned to prevent children and pets from exposure to the toxic Mercury that came from the broken bulb.
Do not allow children to stay in a room where one of these bulbs filed with toxic Mercury has been broken, until the mess is completely cleaned up.
Mercury was a common ingredient in latex paint before it was banned from being put into the paint. In many cases the latex paint that contained Mercury is still in homes, and can release Mercury into the air as it dissipates.
Infants can ingest toxic Mercury directly from their mother's milk. The accumulation of toxic Mercury in a childs body starts before they are born because what the mother eats, she shares with her fetus. If the mother eats a lot of fish and that fish is contaminated with toxic Mercury then she shares the toxic Mercury with her child.
I remember in years past, MacDonald's used a combination of fats in their French fry fryer that consisted of cottonseed oil and beef fat. I believe that MacDonald's does NOT use this oil combination today, but back when they did use this combination of fats, it was a common practice to spray cottonseeds in storage with a Mercury based fungicide to prevent Aflatoxin from growing on the seeds. This was a common practice to spray most seeds, not just cottonseeds, and it was done in the past on peanuts too. I believe that cottonseed oil was recently removed from the fryers at MacDonalds.
I saw Ms. Jenny McCarthy, on a television show several years ago, and heard her say that when she changed her son’s diet he started to improve, and come out of his Autism. This made sense to me because I considered her statement that she improved her son's diet to mean that she stopped allowing him to have fast food, including a lot of foods that contain wheat, rye, oats, and other grains where toxic Mercury may be present from depositing in the grains from the soils where the grains are grown.
Remember that toxic Mercury is still in our farm land soil despite it having been banned from farming for over 35 years.
I believe that Ms. McCarthy's son developed his Autism shortly after receiving his childhood vaccinations because of the preservative called Thimerosal that was present within his shots. It wasn't the serum that caused her son's Autism; it was the overload of toxic Mercury already in the child's body combined with the Mercury in the preservative in his shots that is called Thimerosal, that caused his Autism.
For many years, experts have understood that toxic Mercury poisoning affected a child's cognitive abilities. In the case of an adult with Mercury poisoning the symptoms are more likely seen in the nervous system and in kidney function.
So I have asked myself WHY are so many people fighting against the idea that the Mercury preservative in childhood immunizations, called Thimerosal, is the cause, the 'trigger' that causes a child to overload and go into the state of Autism?
THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPHS IS SOMETHING THAT I FOUND ONLINE THAT MAY EXPLAIN WHY SO MANY SO CALLED EXPERTS ARE TELLING MOTHERS THAT THIMEROSAL IS NOT THE CAUSE OF AUTISM...These experts are not considering the whole, complete story.
Argument is often made that Thimerosal, which is composed of Ethylmercury is a safer form of Mercury because Ethylmercury is NOT the same as Methylmercury, which is the contaminant we find in water and Methylmercury is the contaminant we find in fish.
The truth is that Ethylmercury (in Thimerosal) is more toxic to primates (we are primates) than Methylmercury according to Dr. George Lucier in a letter to the National Institutes of Health where Dr. Lucier cites a study in the Archives of Toxicology called the Magos Study. Please read the following

…A second study, which was not discussed this morning, is that adult male and female rats were administered five daily doses of equimolar concentrations of ethyl or methylmercury by gavage and tissue distribution, neurotoxicity, and nephrotoxicity assessed. This was a Magos study in 1985 in the Archives of Toxicology. And the key points of that paper were: neurotoxicity of methyl and ethylmercury were similar, although higher levels of inorganic mercury were seen in the brains of ethylmercury-treated rats consistent with what we'd said about metabolism; and likewise, because of that, the renal damage was greater in the ethylmercury treated rats.

I have to recommend that you also read the letter;

that is 'live linked' on Dr. Lucier's above page.
K. Paul Stoller, M.D. is fighting against Thimerosal being present in vaccines adminstered to children.
Please read the following because it is about the second child to be diagnosed with Autism back in 1943. This child was born in 1937. Children with this child's symptoms were not seen until the 1930's.
Mercury fungicide came on the market sometime between 1930 and 1931, and this child's father was Frederick L. Wellman, the renowned researcher who worked with organic Mercury fungicide during the time the child was in vitro in 1936 while the father worked in a pine forest experimenting with organic Mercury fungicide. This child was first exposed to organic Mercury fungicide from his father’s work clothing, and it was in vitro.
The child's mother suffered with kidney problems while she was carrying the fetus. Kidney issues are one of the symptoms of Mercury poisoning in an adult, and many mothers of Autistic children do suffer with Kidney problems.
Following is an excerpt from a story written by Dan Olmsted and published in the Baltimore City Paper on February 28, 2007. .
http://www.citypaper.com/news/story.asp?id=13317
IN 1943, A CHILD KNOWN ONLY AS FREDERICK W. became part of the first medical report of a strange new disorder. Frederick was Case 2 of 11 children whose behavior "differed markedly and uniquely from anything reported so far," wrote Dr. Leo Kanner, the psychiatrist at Johns Hopkins University who introduced the syndrome to the world and named it "autism."
One of the children "spun with great pleasure everything he could seize upon to spin." Many of the children flapped their hands; flew into unpredictable bouts of rage and aggression; spoke in inexplicable ways if they spoke at all, sometimes referring to themselves as "you" and others as "I"; showed remarkable abilities like keen memory and perfect pitch but abject inability to perform simple tasks; obsessed over objects but ignored human beings.
Kanner didn't know why the children, all born in the 1930s, acted that way but noticed the parents were college-educated and career-oriented: lawyers, psychiatrists, scientists. He wrote, "In the whole group, there are very few really warm-hearted fathers and mothers," and later speculated, "emotionally refrigerated" parents might play a role in causing the baffling disorder….
...
In 1999, the CDC and other public-health authorities urged vaccine manufacturers to phase ethyl mercury out of U.S. pediatric vaccines as a precaution, given the well-known toxicity of mercury in developing brains and the increasing number of required childhood immunizations that contained it. Thimerosal remains in most flu shots, which are recommended by a CDC advisory committee for all pregnant women and for children as young as 6 months. Due in large measure to reassurance from United States and United Nations health authorities, ethyl mercury continues in wide use in pediatric vaccines in developing nations.
...
Back in the days when the first cases of Autism were diagnosed Dr. Kanner did NOT know that Mercury was the cause because Dr. Kanner did NOT have all the pieces of the puzzle to look at.
Because Dr. Kanner was a psychiatrist, he of course thought that the problem was purely emotional. It was like the old story that goes if you ask a carpenter how to do a task the carpenter will try to accomplish the task by using a hammer.
A psychiatrist will always think that unusual behavior stems from an emotion issue not realizing that body chemistry has to also be considered. And of course back when Dr. Kanner saw the first Autistic children he didn't know that Mercury, that is very toxic, was somehow coming in close contact to the children.
Well to do people, like the parents of the first Autistic children, always have nice gardens, and some employ gardeners, who use products in these nice gardens that their employers know nothing about. And in this mix, at that time, you would find the newly discovered Mercury fungicides being used to control black soot fungus on roses, and other fungus in these really nice gardens. And of course there is the issue of the food crops that were being sprayed with the newly discovered Mercury fungicides.
Dr. Kanner did not realize that the food the children ate, the environment they were living in, the clothes the fathers wore to work and then at home, could contain a toxic substance, Mercury, and Mercury poisoning was the ‘root’ cause of the Autism he was seeing in his child patients. Today, we know how toxic Mercury is.

Autism: a novel form of mercury poisoning

Abstract
Autism is a syndrome characterized by impairments in social relatedness and communication, repetitive behaviors, abnormal movements, and sensory dysfunction. Recent epidemiological studies suggest that autism may affect 1 in 150 US children. Exposure to mercury can cause immune, sensory, neurological, motor, and behavioral dysfunctions similar to traits defining or associated with autism, and the similarities extend to neuroanatomy, neurotransmitters, and biochemistry. Thimerosal, a preservative added to many vaccines, has become a major source of mercury in children who, within their first two years, may have received a quantity of mercury that exceeds safety guidelines. A review of medical literature and US government data suggests that: (i) many cases of idiopathic autism are induced by early mercury exposure from thimerosal; (ii) this type of autism represents an unrecognized mercurial syndrome; and (iii) genetic and non-genetic factors establish a predisposition whereby thimerosal’s adverse effects occur only in some children.

Since the March 12 decision by the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, which concluded that thimerosal in vaccines is not linked to autism or any other childhood neurological injury, I’ve been asked by many people: What exactly is thimerosal?
Thimerosal is a fungicide/bactericide used as a preservative in medical products. It is prepared by combining the fungicide ethylmercuric chloride with thiosalicylic acid. The reason for this is to increase the solubility of ethylmercuric chloride in water so it can be added at higher concentrations to products such as vaccines. Thimerosal is 10,000 times more soluble in water than ethylmercuric chloride.
Due to multiple accidental poisonings from ingestion of treated seed, ethylmercuric chloride was banned for use as a fungicide and all other purposes in the 1970s.
The symptoms of ethylmercuric chloride poisoning occurred months after the ingestion of treated seed. The first symptom noticed was paresthesia (nerve damage to fingers and toes) followed by ataxia (loss of coordination of the muscles), dysarthia (difficulty in articulating words) and loss of vision. While some functionality did return in some victims, the underlying damage was mostly irreversible. Tens of thousands of parents feel they saw the same symptoms in their children following vaccination with vaccines that contained thimerosal. Most of these children were eventually diagnosed as autistic.
Nobody knows what the safe amount of ethylmercuric chloride is for children. Thimerosal is added to multi-dose vaccine vials at a concentration of 50,000 micrograms per liter (mcg/l) mercury. In Wisconsin, any liquid waste solution which contains more than 200 mcg/l mercury is classified as hazardous waste.
There are four vaccines currently used in Wisconsin that contain this amount of mercury. They are vaccines administered from multi-dose flu, H1N1, meningococcal and tetanus/diphtheria booster vials. The flu and H1N1 vaccine are administered to pregnant women and children 6 months of age. The tetanus is approved for children 7 years and older. The meningococcal is approved for children 12 years and older. This year’s flu and H1N1 vaccines will expire soon and have to be treated as hazardous waste.
The next time your physician or nurse tells you that mercury is no longer used in vaccines (or that the quantity is small), feel free to share this information with them.
